Google wants to deliver ‘relevant’ results to its users. If you search for a business or company in a specific location, Google wants to deliver local results relevant to your search.
At the top of Google’s results a map of the location and a list of local businesses deemed relevant to the searched keyphrase will appear. Over the past three years, Google Local listings have started popping up and now usually appear above the natural search listings – thus pushing the importance of SEO down slightly!
