About Alderley Edge

Alderley Edge is a quaint and historic village located in the heart of Cheshire, England. Nestled among rolling hills and lush greenery, Alderley Edge offers visitors the perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration.

The village is home to around 4,780 residents and boasts a number of attractions, from its charming cobbled streets to its stunning views over the Cheshire countryside.

The area has been inhabited since at least the Stone Age, with evidence of Neolithic settlements unearthed during archaeological digs just outside of Alderley Edge.The area was also key during the industrial revolution and housed many factories for textiles and other industries.

Today, it stands as one of Britain’s most affluent villages with many celebrities choosing to make it their home.

For those interested in history and culture, there are several interesting sites to visit in or near Alderley Edge including a 12th century church (St. Philip & St James Church), several ancient ruins (such as Wizard’s Wood), historic houses (including Alderley Old Hall) and monuments (such as Stormy Point).

There are also plenty of shops along the main street where visitors can pick up souvenirs or try some of the delicious local produce.

For those who love outdoor activities, there are plenty of trails and paths to explore around Alderley Edge – many winding through green fields and idyllic woodland settings. Popular activities include walking trails, mountain biking, horse riding and even paragliding!

Those looking for a more leisurely experience can simply take in the stunning scenery or grab a bite at one of the traditional pubs nearby such as The Red Lion or The Shoulder Of Mutton.
